Aspirin doesn't just help relieve headaches, it also does these 10 things

For many of us, aspirin is just as likely to be found in our pockets or purses as a wallet or keys. You never know when you're going to be hit with an achy body part! But what few know about these tiny wonder pills is how versatile they are. Here are 10 unconventional ways to put aspirin to use.

1. Anti-acne

Aspirin is a powerful anti-inflammatory drug. Try mixing 2-3 crushed pills together with a squeeze of lemon juice and applying it directly to your pimples. Rinse away the paste after a few minutes. Note: Do not use the mix on open or scratched skin.

2. Remove sweat stains

Sweat stains will be a thing of yesterday if you dissolve a single pill in warm water and leave it on the area overnight. Wash your clothes as normal the next day and they should be clear once again.

3. Treat insect bites

To relieve itchy mosquito bites or swollen skin, dissolve a pill in a tablespoon of water. Apply the mixture to the bite for several minutes to soothe the itch.

4. Soften calluses

If you're ready to say goodbye to your callused skin, mix seven crushed aspirin pills with 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice and apply it to the soles of your feet. Cover your foot with a warm, damp towel and let it sit for 10 minutes. Once it's softened, you can remove the dead skin with a pumice stone.

5. For healthier hair

Damaged, dull hair can be brightened with a treatment of aspirin water. Dissolve crushed pills in 1 cup of water and pour it over your hair. Leave it in for 15 minutes and then rinse. Your hair will shine like new.

6. Anti-dandruff

To get rid of dandruff, mix two crushed pills with a single portion of shampoo and wash your hair as normal. The painkillers contain acetylsalicylic acid, which works against fungus and bacteria, two main triggers for dandruff buildup. Though dandruff can have many other causes such as stress, too much or too little hair care, and chronic illness.

The pills work wonders on oily skin and large pores. Mix a few pills together with some water and carefully rub it into your skin.

To make sure your cut flowers last a long time, add half a crushed aspirin to the water. Make sure you don't overdose your flowers; too much will have the opposite effect!

Bathtubs have a tendency to collect hard-to-clean soap scum. To help get rid of it, add five tablets dissolved in water to a spray bottle and apply the liquid to the tub walls. After letting it soak for 30 minutes, clean with a damp cloth.
