When glasses come out of the dishwasher, they are covered in white marks. If you do this next time, you’ll be amazed by the results!

Today, the dishwasher is an essential and useful device at home. But it also has a lot of drawbacks. Firstly, it's one of the most polluting devices on the planet, and secondly, it's the one that uses some of the most expensive products.

When it comes to unloading the dishwasher, even if they are washed properly, our plates and glasses are often covered with white marks from the limescale. What a waste of time and water! Here's what you can do next time — make your own dishwasher tabs.

You'll be amazed by the results.

You'll need (for 48 tabs):

  • 1 1/2 cups of baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups of citric acid powder
  • 3/4 cup Epsom salt
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 20 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 2 or more ice cube trays

Here's how:

Mix the baking soda, citric acid powder and Epsom salt together. Add the vinegar (which will get rid of the limescale) and the essential oil. Don't worry if the mixture is fizzing, it's normal — the vinegar and baking soda are just reacting together.

Mix well and apportion the paste into the molds in the ice cube tray. Make sure it is pressed down well.

Leave the trays to dry in a sunny place for at least 24 hours! Then you can remove the tabs from the trays.

Tip: If the compartments of the tray are too big, you can cut the tabs in two before removing them. Then you'll have twice as many. You don't need a big tab to achieve big results.

And voilà! Your tabs are ready to be used and, pretty soon, you won't want to go back to life without them!

It's the perfect way to know exactly what you're putting on your dishes and in the water, and if that wasn't enough, it's also a way to save money. Awesome!
