10 custom pieces made from IKEA furniture
The blue and yellow Swedish furniture store is still wildly popular and it's not surprising considering they consistently offer fresh, unique designs at low prices and many ways to customize their furniture. The only annoying thing is building the individual pieces of furniture, but that process also has a lot of potential. Many IKEA pieces can easily be transformed into totally unique designs. Here are some ideas:
Hang the BEKVÄM spice rack sideways on the wall and you have a great hanging space.
Two KULLEN dressers side by side with a working surface set on top makes for a great desk with lots of storage.
The KALLAX shelves also work as a cozy seating area. All you need is a comfy pad and a few pillows.
Put three KALLAX shelves together and you can even create a stylish bed with loads of storage.
You can't get it any cheaper: Put two LACK wall shelves one above the other and hang a mirror above. Pop a chair below and you'll melt most womens' hearts.
Not just for old folks, this STRANDMON chair will rock you to sleep if you add on a rocker to the bottom.
The BILLY bookcase is also great for jackets and boots. Everyone gets their own shelf and everything stays organized. Finally things will stop getting lost!
The LÄTT children's table looks pretty boring until you do this...
Turn it 90° and the SULTAN LADE slats are a decorative and spacious wall mount.
