A man transformed a tiny patio into something great
We all know that space can be an issue in homes and gardens. That's why many of us would sympathize with this particular person's plight when trying to make the most out of the tiny patio area he had next to his house. If you also have a small outdoor area, veranda or balcony in your apartment or house, you will no doubt be inspired by this undertaking that saw a few square feet of concrete be transformed into an oasis of wellness and relaxation. Time to get planning for your own mini paradise!
His patio wasn't ugly but it wasn't that inviting either. A few square feet of concrete, a couple of garden chairs, a table and a BBQ left him feeling quite cramped in his small outdoor space.
So, he started planning a new set-up with the help of 3D design software to better visualize his concept.
And a short while later, the project got kick-started — under the watchful eyes of a curious observer!
The bench seating area was first on the agenda.
Before long, it was starting to take shape, which made it easier to imagine how it would look in the end. But it got a whole lot better than this...
A few bits and pieces to help decorate the patio area were acquired to make the space feel a lot warmer and comfortable.
The terrace construction almost completed but with one small surprise still to come...
Aha — this is where the water came into being. Instead of using expensive pond liner, he chose to use tarpaulin as a suitable alternative.
The lower section was where the small water basin was created. A great idea that was seamlessly integrated into a small terrace.
And now for the piece de resistance: with the help of a well pump, a few pots and watering can, a clever little water feature was created across several levels.
Of course, a terrace cannot be a terrace without a touch of green here and there. Flowers and plants added to the charm of this oasis in the making.
Finally, everything has been painted and decorated — beautiful and most inviting!
This great patio really underwent a transformation for the better. Where it was cramped before, it is now more spacious, open and comfortable.
What a lovely idea to create a safe haven in such a small outdoor space! Maybe you'll find inspiration in it for your very own version of a mini paradise?
