1. Countertop Herb Garden

You'll Need:

  • rectangular cardboard box
  • packaging tape
  • cement
  • mugs
  • potting soil
  • herbs

Here's How:

1.1 To make the mold for the backdrop of the countertop garden, line a cardboard box with packaging tape. Once the box is fully lined, pour in the mixed cement until the mold is covered.

1.2 Arrange 3 mugs in the wet cement, making sure they're all positioned sideways and facing upwards, then let everything dry completely.

1.3 Once the cement has dried, cut the corners of the cardboard box and remove the cement from the mold.

1.4 Scoop potting soil into the mugs and plant your herbs directly inside. This countertop herb garden works great in the kitchen, on your balcony, or even in your garden!

2. Cement Cat Decorations

You'll Need:

  • cardboard
  • packaging tape
  • cement
  • permanent marker
  • box cutter
  • tape
  • hot glue gun
  • paint

Here's How:

2.1 To make the mold, use a permanent market to draw the body of a cat on a piece of cardboard and cut it out with a box cutter. Cut out additional strips of cardboard of equal width to be used as the sides of the mold.

2.2 Cover the cardboard cat stencil and cardboard strips with packaging tape and use the box cutter to cut off any excess tape.

2.3 Position and glue the cardboard strips vertically around the outline of the cat stencil using a hot glue gun.

2.4 Make sure the sides of the mold are secure, then pour in the mixed cement. Spread the cement around evenly within the mold and let everything dry.

2.5 Once everything has dried, cut the cardboard mold off of the cement cat and paint your new adorable garden decoration whatever colors you want!

3. Succulent Planters

You'll Need:

  • plastic bottle
  • box cutter
  • packaging tape
  • plastic straw
  • cement
  • permanent marker
  • potting soil
  • succulents

Here's How:

3.1 Cut the top off of a plastic bottle

3.2 Cut 2 more sections of equal width out of the plastic bottle, making sure one of the sections is the domed upper section.

3.3 Cut open the cylindrical piece of the plastic bottle and pull it together tightly to make a small plastic ring the same size as the top of the domed segment. Tape the smaller plastic ring together, then tape it to the inside of the domed plastic bottle segment.

3.4 Tape over the small plastic ring on the side nearest to the bottom to seal it off.

3.5 Press a plastic straw through the center of the tape.

3.6 Place the smaller side of the mold on a flat work surface and pour mixed cement into the mold. Even out the surface of the cement and let it dry.

3.7 Cut the plastic bottle mold and straw off of the dried cement and draw a cute face on your new planter using a permanent marker.

3.8 Scoop potting soil into the mini pots and plant your succulents directly in the soil.

These DIY cement garden decorations are fun and easy ways to add some extra personality to your home. Plus the decorations will be strong and resilient, just like you!
