Deck The Halls With 3 Upcycled Christmas Decorations

Now that Thanksgiving is over, you can officially start decorating for Christmas, and there's no better way to do that than with 3 festive DIY crafts that will boost your holiday spirit AND let you upcycle materials you already have lying around the house!

1. Flower Pot Christmas Bell

You'll Need:

  • plastic flower pot
  • metallic spray paint
  • round Christmas ornament
  • cord
  • drill

1.1 Drill a hole in the middle of the bottom of the flower pot and then spray paint the inside and outside of the flower pot.

1.2 Lead the cord through the hole, create a loop at the top so you can hang the bell, and tie a round Christmas ornament to the end of the cord that hangs down from the bell. This will look fantastic in your windows and on your front door!

2. Plastic Bottle Santa Boot

You'll Need:

  • empty plastic bottle
  • cardboard
  • hot glue gun
  • craft glue
  • paper towels
  • red spray paint
  • red glitter
  • cotton padding
  • Christmas bow
  • candy

2.1 Cut off the bottom and neck of the bottle, trace the pieces on cardboard, and cut out the shape as shown in the video.

2.2 Use the hot glue gun to glue the bottle pieces to the cardboard. Dilute the craft glue with some water, cut the paper towels into strips, and glue the strips to the bottles. Brush more of the diluted glue over the strips glued to the bottle, just like paper mache.

2.3 Spray paint the paper mache boot red.

2.4 Once the spray paint has dried, brush the diluted craft glue over the entire boot and pour glitter over it. Glue some cotton padding around the top of the boot, decorate with a nice Christmas bow, and fill the boot with candy.

3. Hanger Christmas Wreath

You'll Need:

  • wire hanger
  • round Christmas ornaments
  • decorative bow

3.1 Untwist the hanger and shape it into a circle.

3.2 Thread the Christmas ornaments on the wire, twist the top of the wire back together again, and decorate the finished Christmas wreath with a decorative bow. This decoration is as simple as it is beautiful!

Who knew it was so easy to create something this special for the holidays? And the best part is, you get to recycle old materials and save a bundle on decorations!
