4 DIY Art Projects You Can Make With Fire

WARNING: As these projects require the use of an open flame, you should be extremely cautious when attempting any of them. Make sure your surroundings are free of other flammable material/objects whether indoors or outdoors, and have a fire extinguisher ready in case of an emergency.

As a child, you learn never to play with fire, both figuratively and literally speaking. But there are a few fire tricks that you should definitely give a try. If you're into art and DIY projects, and you love trying new things, then you should definitely check out these 4 DIY art projects you can make with fire. A few matches, lemon juice, rubbing alcohol, and a little fire is more than enough to get creative!

1. Burned Picture

You'll Need:

  • baking sheet
  • aluminum foil
  • picture frame with glass pane
  • gloves
  • alcohol ink (various colors)
  • rubbing alcohol
  • lighter

Here's How:

1.1 Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, then remove the glass pane from the picture frame and place it on top of the foil.

1.2 Put on a pair of rubber gloves and put a few drops of various colors of alcohol ink in a crisscross pattern on the glass pane.

1.3 Drip rubbing alcohol over the colors and let everything flow across the pane by moving it to and fro with your hands, then (carefully!) set the pane on fire with a lighter. Place the glass pane back into the picture frame and enjoy your cool artwork.

2.1 Glue a few matches to a small piece of cardboard, as shown in the video.

2.2 Cut the matches in half. Repeat this process 7 times.

2.3 Lay out the matches in a circle and place a small cardboard circle in the center.

2.4 Cut off the tops of the remaining matches and glue them to the cardboard circle.

2.5 Now put all the individual parts of the flower together. Glue the flower to a wooden stick and put it in a small planter with stones. Now you can light your flower and watch it "wilt" in spectacular fashion!
