4 Fun And Easy Ways To Jazz Up Your Nails

Painting your nails can be a super fun and creative outlet. Plus, when you take good care of your hands and nails, you can fool people into thinking you've got your stuff together, even if that may be far from the truth! But if you think using only one color at a time is kind of boring and you're looking to broaden your horizons, you're right where you need to be. We're going to show you 4 tricks that'll add some pizzazz to your nails. You'll never have to go to the salon again!

1. Nail Polish Roses

You'll Need:

  • white nail polish
  • plastic baggie
  • red nail polish
  • green nail polish
  • toothpick
  • top coat
  • tweezers

Here's How:

1.1 Paint your nails with white nail polish.

1.2 Pour some of the white and some of the green nail polish on the plastic baggie.

1.3 Add a drop of red nail polish on the plastic baggie and use a toothpick to pull it into the shape of a rose.

1.4 Use the toothpick and the white nail polish to add some detailing to the flower.

1.5 Dip the other side of the toothpick in the green nail polish and paint leaves for the rose. Let the flower set. Make one flower for each fingernail. If that's too much, make two and use those as cute little accents on your nails.

1.6 Now apply a layer of top coat over the flowers and let them dry.

1.7 Carefully remove the nail polish roses from the plastic baggie with tweezers and put them on your nails.

1.8 Apply a layer of top coat to fix the nail polish roses to the white nail polish underneath.

2. Tie Dye Nail Polish

You'll Need:

  • glass of water
  • light and dark nail polish
  • paper clip
  • nail polish remover
  • cotton swab
  • top coat

Here's How:

2.1 Add a few drops of each nail polish color to a glass of water, alternating colors a few times.

2.2 Unbend a paper clip and use it to carefully mix the nail polish in the water.

2.3 Slowly dip your fingernails into the nail polish water.

2.4 Dip a cotton swab in nail polish remover and use it to remove the excess nail polish around your nails.

2.5 Let the nail polish dry. Your best bet is to put a solid layer of top coat on top of the tie dye polish. It's truly the icing on the manicure cake.

3. Striped Nail Polish

You'll Need:

  • light and dark nail polish
  • tape
  • top coat

Here's How:

3.1 Paint your nails with the lighter nail polish and let dry.

3.2 Cut up some tape into different size strips and tape them to your fingernails in whatever pattern you like.

3.3 Now paint your nails with the darker nail polish, let dry, and then carefully remove all of the tape.

3.4 Finish your nails off with a layer of top coat.

4. Nail Polish Blossoms

You'll Need:

  • light blue nail polish
  • yellow nail polish
  • black nail polish
  • toothpick
  • top coat

Here's How:

4.1 Paint your nails with the light blue nail polish.

4.2 Pour some of the black and some of the yellow nail polish into a bowl each.

4.3 Use a toothpick to paint tiny flowers on your nails with the yellow nail polish.

4.4 Now paint the inside of the flower with the black nail polish and let dry.

4.5 Put a layer of top coat on your nails.

If you're not into the idea of waiting so long for your nail polish to dry, here's a tip for you: About an hour before you start painting your nails, put some water in a mug that's big enough to fit your hand and put it in the freezer. After you're done painting your nails, grab the mug from the freezer and dip your fingers into the ice cold water for about a minute. This will make the nail polish dry super quickly, plus the freezing water will boost circulation and wake you up!
