6 Ideas For New Year's Eve Cocktails

What's a New Year's Eve party without drinks? But if you're like us and frankly a little tired of champagne, wine, and beer, give these hacks a try! Transform a glass of whiskey into an event, turn strawberries into edible shot glasses, and much, much more!

1. DIY Whiskey Wedge

You'll Need:

  • aluminum foil
  • muffin pan
  • whiskey glass
  • water
  • whiskey

Here's How:

1.1 Scrunch up a piece of aluminum foil and place it into the mold of a muffin pan.

1.2 Pour some water in a glass and put it into the muffin pan at an angle. The aluminum foil helps it stay put despite the tilted position.

1.3 Now put the tilted glass in the freezer and once it's frozen, pour some whiskey in it. Whiskey on the rocks? More like whiskey on an iceberg!

2. Rainbow Ice Cubes

You'll Need:

  • water
  • food coloring
  • ice cube tray

Here's How:

2.1 Fill up 6 bowls with water and put a few drops of food coloring in each bowl so you have 6 six different colors.

2.2 Use a ladle to put down the first layer of colored water into the ice cube tray compartments. Then put the tray in the freezer. As soon as the first layer is frozen solid, you can continue with the second color. Freeze again. Repeat this process with the remaining colors. Now you can present your guests with ultra cool rainbow ice cubes!

3. Chocolate Strawberry Shots

You'll Need:

  • strawberries
  • melted chocolate
  • coffee-flavored liqueur (like Kahlúa)

Here's How:

3.1 Cut off the tops and bottoms of some strawberries and scoop out the flesh with a spoon.

3.2 Dip the bottom of the strawberries into melted chocolate and allow them to harden on a parchment-lined sheet pan. Once the chocolate has set, fill up the strawberries with the coffee-flavored liqueur. You just made edible shot glasses!

4. Flaming B-52 Cocktail

You'll Need:

  • heatproof shot glass
  • cold spoon
  • lighter
  • Kahlúa
  • Baileys
  • Grand Marnier

Here's How:

Pour some Kahlúa into a heatproof shot glass. Then put a teaspoon on top of the glass and pour the Baileys over it so it flows into the Kahlúa. Repeat the same process with Grand Marnier. Now set the liqueur on fire for dramatic effect.

5. Sparkling Wine Popsicle Cocktail

You'll Need:

  • popsicle mold
  • orange juice
  • grape juice
  • popsicle sticks
  • sparkling wine

Here's How:

Pour orange and grape juice into popsicle molds and put them in the freezer. This is a great way to pep up a glass of champagne, and it looks cool, too!

6. Color-Changing Cocktail

You'll Need:

  • 4 tsp butterfly pea flower tea
  • 2 cups hot water
  • ice cube tray
  • 1 cup sparkling water
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 2 tsp sugar syrup

Here's How:

Brew 4 tsp of butterfly pea flower tea and pour it into an ice cube tray. Put the tray in the freezer. Once the ice cubes are frozen solid, add sparkling water, tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup. Combine well. Now put the ice cubes in a glass and pour the mixed drink over it. Watch in awe as the liquid starts to change color.

Ring in the New Year in style and use these drinks to really impress your guests!
