Aspirin doesn't just help relieve headaches, it also does these 10 things

For many of us, aspirin is just as likely to be found in our pockets or purses as a wallet or keys. You never know when you're going to be hit with an achy body part! But what few know about these tiny wonder pills is how versatile they are. Here are 10 unconventional ways to put aspirin to use.

1. Anti-acne

Aspirin is a powerful anti-inflammatory drug. Try mixing 2-3 crushed pills together with a squeeze of lemon juice and applying it directly to your pimples. Rinse away the paste after a few minutes. Note: Do not use the mix on open or scratched skin.

2. Remove sweat stains

Sweat stains will be a thing of yesterday if you dissolve a single pill in warm water and leave it on the area overnight. Wash your clothes as normal the next day and they should be clear once again.

3. Treat insect bites

To relieve itchy mosquito bites or swollen skin, dissolve a pill in a tablespoon of water. Apply the mixture to the bite for several minutes to soothe the itch.

6. Anti-dandruff

To get rid of dandruff, mix two crushed pills with a single portion of shampoo and wash your hair as normal. The painkillers contain acetylsalicylic acid, which works against fungus and bacteria, two main triggers for dandruff buildup. Though dandruff can have many other causes such as stress, too much or too little hair care, and chronic illness.

7. Skin peeling

The pills work wonders on oily skin and large pores. Mix a few pills together with some water and carefully rub it into your skin.

8. Long-lasting flowers

To make sure your cut flowers last a long time, add half a crushed aspirin to the water. Make sure you don't overdose your flowers; too much will have the opposite effect!

9. To clean

Bathtubs have a tendency to collect hard-to-clean soap scum. To help get rid of it, add five tablets dissolved in water to a spray bottle and apply the liquid to the tub walls. After letting it soak for 30 minutes, clean with a damp cloth.

10. Face mask

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and oil-removing properties, aspirin makes for a great face mask. Mix seven crushed pills with three tablespoons yogurt and one tablespoon honey. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes before rinsing.

It's good to know that these little painkillers have so many other uses! You can even use expired pills for some of these tricks if you have a few extra lying around.
