A Simple Trick To Create A Childhood Memento

If you've got kids, you'll know this: they grow up so fast. This is why little mementos of the time when they had tiny little hands and feet are even more important. Here's a simple and cheap way to make an amazing memento.

You'll Need:

  • 1 cup baking powder
  • 1/2 cup starch
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Food coloring of your choice

Here's How:

First, all three ingredients are simply combined. Be careful because it will be quite frothy!

Then the liquid, which will become firm quickly, is placed into a pan and is kept warm on low heat.

Now the food coloring is added, creating a colorful batter.

Afterward the pan is removed from the stove and the mass is cooled and hardened for 30 minutes.

Now mould the mass into an oval.

And this is when the cute baby feet come into play: Just press the foot (or hand) gently into the dough.

Let the print dry for at least one night and then attach it to a picture frame with a bit of glue. Add the date and name and your memento is all done!

Here is a video guide of the process:

This memento is a great gift for grandpas, grandmas, aunts and uncles, who will undoubtedly be very moved to receive it.
