How To Make A No-Sew DIY Face Mask In Just 5 Minutes

Right now, healthcare professionals and medical first responders need to have access to face masks. That's why you shouldn't be buying them for yourself, especially since it's so easy to make homemade alternatives. Yes, you can make DIY masks right at home, and you don't even need to use a sewing machine. Just use an old T-shirt or handkerchief and you should be ready to go in less than 5 minutes!

1. No-Sew T-Shirt Mask

You'll Need:

  • old, clean T-shirt
  • safety pin
  • scissors
  • fresh paper towel

Here's How:

1.1 Cut off the lower part of the T-shirt just below the armpits.

1.2 Cut off the collar.

1.3 Cut a semi-circular piece of fabric from the left sleeve.

1.4 Cut a similar piece of fabric from the right sleeve.

1.5 Put a safety pin through the fabric on the side where the collar was.

1.6 Now place a fresh paper towel between the two layers of fabric.

1.7 Secure your homemade face mask around your head. Make sure that the side with the safety pin is facing down so the paper towel doesn't slip. You should wash the face mask after each use. Remove the paper towel and boil the fabric in hot water for at least 5 minutes.
