Man creates art piece from wooden blocks and chunks of glass
A Russian couple regularly shares their ideas and videos for decorating, furniture, and more on their YouTube channel Positive couple. Everything is handmade and many of their projects use wood in creative ways. This time, the man creates a beautiful piece of wall art with wooden blocks.
To begin, he paints a wooden frame with glossy paint.
He then installs a background panel within the frame.
Next he cuts a bucket full of wooden blocks. This is a great way to use any extra pieces of wood you have laying around. The wall hanging looks especially attractive if you use several kinds of wood.
He then randomly arranged these blocks and attached them to the back panel using glue, leaving a marked section in the middle of the board unfilled.
He traced this originally marked line onto individual blocks and then sawed each of them to create a continuous curve.
He glued a cord of lights along this curve. Looks pretty cool!
The highlight to come is these glass stones, but as they are pretty large, he first smashed them into smaller pieces with a hammer.
He then glued the broken glass along the light chain. I hope he doesn't cut himself...
Voilà! A glowing crystal river. Hopefully that is one hardy cord of lights...
Here's a video of the whole project:
It'll definitely take more than a single nail to hang that heavy frame on the wall. Even though this project requires some skill, it's probably possible for the less handy among us to do it, too. It would even look great if you just used wood or glass.
