How to make some colorful mini-beanies for your Christmas tree

For some people store-bought Christmas decorations are much too boring and unsentimental. They prefer to make their own and don't mind putting in the effort to create some seasonal cheer with their own unique touch. These mini-beanies are the perfect holiday craft for beginners and can add a warm and cozy ambience to those cold winter nights.

You will need:

  • Yarn in a variety of colors (a set like this is perfect)
  • Cardboard tube (from a kitchen towel or toilet paper)
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Ruler

Here's how:

Flatten out the cardboard tube. Now use the ruler and the pen to mark off 1.5 cm strips.

Cut the cardboard tube along these markings so that you end up with five rings of the same width.

Now take a ball of yarn and cut some 12-inch strands. You'll need around 50 strands of each color.

Take a strand, fold it in the middle and wrap the doubled strand around the cardboard ring. Now pull the open ends through the loop created by the closed end.

Repeat this process with all of the strands until the entire cardboard ring is covered with yarn. Make sure to keep one piece of yarn for later.

Divide up the ends of yarn into two bunches and swirl each bunch together before pulling them back through the ring. Now smooth the strands out.

Use the strand of yarn that you put aside to tie off the ends. Make a tight knot about an inch above the cardboard ring.

All that's left to do is get the bobble into shape. To do this, take the scissors and cut the ends to the same length.

And you're done!

It's a quick and easy craft that can add a lot of warmth and color to your Christmas festivities. So try it out for yourself and share the idea with your friends this holiday season.
